This series of self-portraits were taken and edited on my Iphone 7+ over the course of a year between November 2018 and December 2019. At the time I very much needed the immediate hit of creative result.

I decided to take a photo in the coolest bathroom in the Northern Rivers. Fortuitously, it happened to be in my long term rental. It was kinda a big thing, with the owners not wanting any photographs inside the house without permission. Initially I was always going to keep my head covered, but that went out the window by ‘white’.

Interestingly, the last few photographs, ‘orange’ and ‘red’ actually spilled from the house and into the outside world. (with thanks to Frauke Huhn for her assistance with these as they were both taken on location, moments before we had to take our Performance Hart workshops, and I didn’t have the time to tripod the shots myself).

Another interesting thing looking back, is that five out of the eight were taken around 12.30pm, give or take. My creative window perhaps.

Lockdown started only a few short months later.
